Question Futaba R617FS 2.4GHz Receiver ANTENNA placement ??

In the Futaba 7C transmission (page 17) it shows that the two antennas on the R617FS 2.4GHz Receiver should be placed 90 degrees to each other, either in a 90 degree "5" shape or one straight out and the other at a xc degree right angle to that other lead. I am installing this receiver in a small foamy'due south fuselage that is sort of "hollowed out" just has no room to identify the antennas in either of the two suggested placements.

WHAT TO Exercise ?? Drill small holes through the foam fuselage and push button them through in some sort of xc degree fashion ?? What will happen if they are placed in parallel to each other inside the fuselage ??

I merely try and brand the antennas indicate in every bit different directions every bit possible and I haven't had any issues. Make certain you do the range examination in power down mode to test it.

?

Is this what they hateful past walking "thirty paces" away from the aircraft to examination range?

Only walk back for a total of 30 paces, WHILE using the Tx to motion all control surfaces. Don't but walk dorsum 30 paces and so perform the range check. But yes, this is what they mean when they say "range test".

I hope yous effigy out how to install your Rx. Wish I could exist more aid in that department, but I'm still flying her stock. Good luck friend.

BTW - In a small foamie - it simply won't matter how you put the antenna wires. 90 caste orientation is important for larger models, but I have washed everything but braid them together with adept results!

Wow, that worked out great for you lot !! You were able to spread the antenna leads out at close to 90 degrees like specified. Looks practiced besides.

I have a 1" broad by 4" deep "carve out" in a hollow foamy fuselage that made information technology hard, but I did it, I put one lead straight out and the other "aptitude" at 90 degrees to it. Retained the leads securely with stick-on velcro. I am still waiting to do a LONG range test to tell if information technology was 100% successful !!

YES........ I maidened the Cessna on a very windy twenty-four hours (I SHOULD Take WAITED Just Foolishly DIDN'T !!) and the poor foamy caught a 20+ MPH "gust" and blew away (out of command) like a Styrofoam plate in the wind....... just spiraled out of control and my trying to "regain" ANY sort of surface control was totally useless. I can re-create the whole feel on my RealFlight G4 simulator by turning the current of air up to 25 MPH !! (If ya' got G4, be a maniac and turn the current of air up to fifty MPH and and so see if even yous can stand up, as the chair, libation, umbrella and airplane "hurricane" across the flight field !!)

Build Review Serious At present !!

To be

serious

now.......... that Antenna arrangement (90 degree opposed) worked out keen on a range check in the Cessna and I do a very similar method of mounting the antenna in an ElectriStar I now take. I have much more room in the ElectriStar so the receiver is mounted "apartment" onto a "shelf" that besides holds servos, battery, etc. One Antenna lead goes upwards vertical and the other works it's fashion horizontal. Yous gotta see a movie to know what I hateful:
